# Usage, limits and alerts

## Usage log

Every lookup is recorded per day, user and source (Record Action, Search, Bulk, Automation, Flow, Agent) in
**Tomba Usage** records. **Tomba Setup › Usage** shows the last 30 days by source and the top users this month,
and the **Tomba Credits by User this Month** report and dashboard chart give the details. Records older than
13 months are deleted automatically.

## Per-user limits

Set a **default monthly credit limit per user** in Tomba Setup, and override it for individual users in the
Usage card. When a user reaches the limit, record actions, searches, bulk runs and agent actions stop with a
message for that user. Automation is not counted — it has its own [monthly budget](/salesforce/automation).

## Low-credit alerts

Every hour Tomba checks your plan's usage. When it reaches the alert threshold (default 90%), or a lookup fails
because the plan has no credits left, users with the **Tomba Admin** permission set get a Salesforce notification
and an email asking them to contact the Tomba account team. You get at most one alert per level per billing period.

Turn on **Pause automation when credits run low** to stop background enrichment until the next period or until
you add credits; record actions keep working.
