# Sandboxes

In a sandbox, Tomba **automation is off** by default — creating or loading test records does not enrich them.
Record actions, searches and bulk runs still work when you run them. To test automation, turn on
**Allow automation in this sandbox** in Tomba Setup.

## When you create or refresh a sandbox

Choose **TombaSandboxPostCopy** as the *Apex Class* in the sandbox options. After the copy it:

- disconnects Tomba (the sandbox must not use production's API key),
- stops the hourly Tomba job,
- keeps automation off.

Then connect the sandbox to a test tomba.io account in Tomba Setup.
